Each session seats exactly four players. The full 52-card deck is dealt evenly — 13 cards per player. No partnerships; every player competes individually.
Before the first card is played, each player declares a number between 1 and 8 — the minimum tricks they commit to winning that hand. Your call is binding; falling short costs you points.
Unlike some variants, in Callbreak the trump suit is fixed as Spades for the entire game. A Spade beats any card of any other suit, regardless of rank.
Players must follow the lead suit if they have it. If they cannot, they must play a Spade (trump). Only when out of both can they discard freely from another suit.
Meet or beat your call and you score that many points. Fail your call and you lose those points. Winning more tricks than called earns fractional bonus points per extra trick.
A full game at 777rd spans five hands. The player with the highest cumulative score at the end of all five hands wins the session pot.

High Spades are the most valuable cards in Callbreak. Ace, King, and Queen of Spades should be played with purpose — either to guarantee tricks or to draw out opponents' trumps so your lower cards survive later in the hand.
Pay close attention to what others have called. If three opponents each called high, the available tricks are scarce. Adjust your strategy mid-hand when you sense an opponent is struggling to make their number — sometimes letting a trick go forces them into a worse position.
Pakistani players sometimes call aggressively out of habit. At 777rd's real-money tables, missing your call is a direct deduction. A call of 2 that you comfortably achieve is worth more in the long run than a call of 5 that leaves you short.
Overtricks give you fractional bonus points. Once your call is secured, play aggressively to capture as many additional tricks as possible — every extra trick nudges your total above opponents and could be the margin of victory over five hands.
